The 17th Judicial District Court is one of Louisiana’s 43 judicial districts and has original jurisdiction of all civil and criminal matters in Lafourche Parish. There are five elected divisions (A, B, C, D & E) of court.

DUTY JUDGE

Division “E” will be the civil and criminal judge through Sunday, December 1, 2024.

Division “A” will be the civil and criminal judge beginning Monday, December 2, 2024 through Sunday, December 15, 2024.

COVID CONCERNS

If you are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, are currently positive for Covid-19 or have been given current medical orders to isolate due to Covid-19, immediately notify the division of court over your case before attempting to enter either courthouse.

PRISONER COURT APPEARANCES

Matters involving incarcerated individuals including magistrate appearances, bond hearings and arraignments may be conducted by simultaneous audio-video conference as determined by each division of Court.
